I was pleased to speak at the Harnessing Creativity Creative Enterprise & Entrepreneurship’ Conference held on March 27th at the Dock, Carrick-on-Shannon. The event hosted leading Irish and International design industry leaders to talk about creativity, enterprise & collaboration, and complemented the Expanded Territories touring exhibition. I spoke about the impact Irish Design 2015 seeks to have, and how it can build upon the platform created by the Harnessing Creativity project.

The Harnessing Creativity project was an EU funded initiative that connected the creative and business talent of Counties Leitrim, Fermanagh and Tyrone, with the aim of revitalising this border region economically in a way that can be replicated elsewhere in Europe.

Two hundred creative-sector businesses with talents ranging from architecture to film, design to photography, music to creative applications of technology benefitted from the project, as well as around a hundred small to medium businesses in the broader economy. Through mentoring and masterclasses, events and exhibitions, the region’s prodigious creative talent honed their business skills, developed new and innovative products, and showcased the region at its creative and commercial best.
