I am really excited that a funding proposal that I co-authored has been awarded over €10 million. The Creative Futures Academy project, a consortium led by NCAD in partnership with IADT, UCD and the Irish Creative Sector will receive this significant investment to innovate in the delivery of creative education for learners at all stages of their careers.
The funding award was made, by the Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science, Simon Harris, TD.
The Creative Futures Academy will empower creative practitioners from a range of disciplines, and at different stages of their learning, with the sustainable and adaptable skills and attributes that they will require to shape the future of Ireland’s creative sector. The Creative Futures Academy will prepare graduates for work in a major sector of the national economy; and support the early and mid-career needs of creative professionals in our fast-changing social, economic and technological contexts.
I am really looking forward to working with colleagues, stakeholders and industry partners on this project over the next 4 years.
Congratulations, well deserved!
