PILOTS: Navigating Next Models of Design Education is a four week project devised and curated by El Ultimo Grito in collaboration with David Falkner at the Stanley Picker Gallery, Kingston. As part of the Pilots experiment, NCAD in collaboration with the Science Gallery are running two split-site sessions on Tuesday 14th May and Thursday 16th May at The Science Gallery, Dublin.
I will be piloting the Dublin session, which will run concurrently and work with the same source material as the final week’s sessions at the Stanley Picker Gallery led by El Ultimo Grito.
The aim of Pilots is to create a forum to discuss the future possibilities of web-based learning within the context of design education. A web-based lecture or demonstration will provide the starting point for each session with Pilots Participants dividing their time between group discussion and developing a collective response that may take the form of a graphic, an object, an action and a text. Full details on the project can be found at:

The results of the Pilots experiment will be featured on the Stanley Picker Gallery website and in a book exploring the themes of PILOTS.
